Control:

Officers will learn enough Spanish words and phrases to effectively CONTROL every situation on Patrol. Situations may be a casual encounter with a Latino person, confronting a suspect, talking with a witness, or helping a victim. Officers CONTROL every situation! After a Street Cop Spanish training, Officers will feel confident in their ability to use the Spanish language.

The mere fact that an Officer attempts to communicate in the Latino’s native language will gain them cooperation, which leads to better CONTROL.
